D

is for Dying.  Dying is what many of the people in my manuscript are now Doing, ever since I DecideD to up the stakes.

is for Dawn my main character, who recently founD out one of her best frienDs DieD from an epiDemic she shoulD have trieD to stop.  Only now it's too late.  Imagine the guilt she feels.

is for making the Decision to change even though she Doesn't think it will help and even though she's scareD to try.

is for DeaD enDs in my manuscript that Don't help Dawn's Dilemma to keep trying.  Even though she eventually comes up with a plan that works out.

is for Dumped, which is what her new boyfriend Does to her after he learns she can see his aura.  That's quite a strong power for someone who claimed she wasn't a Transporter, after all.  Deception.  Disbelief.  Dishonesty.  All bound to Doom a relationship.

***

is for Dan Brown because I love his books.  I don't care what writing critics say.

The DaVinci Code.

  10. I enjoyed the series "Jericho" for the first few episodes and thought it was a pretty serious series because you'd get to know the characters, and one main character would die... It made me feel like it was a solid drama.

Then it seemed like they were using death for a convenience out of having to write some real stuff... Guy cheats on his wife with someone he's fallen in love with, she finds out, they're about to start talking about what they're going to do, but his wife's super pissed... Ok, some good story line... Oh, she's dead. Well, that's nice and tidy.

  11. Yeesh, sorry, I was distracted when I wrong that... Second paragraph should have said "...using death as a convenient way out of having to ..."

"Guy cheats on his wife with someone he falls in love with [his wife] finds out, you know what hits the fan... "

Sorry, it's been a long day...

  13. Nice D post.

I enjoyed The Da Vinci Code even though I thought the end wrapped up too nicely.

Sometimes characters have to die. I'm wrestling about whether or not to kill a character near the end of my current WIP.
