Thursday's hot and so are brains

Yep, you read that right. Brains are hot (and by brains, yes, I mean smarts). We've been kidding around about abs and eyes and, um, coffee, but we're suckers for a person with a brain (pun intended). Book smarts or street smarts, we love 'em. Brains = good. (no zombie pictures. you guys are too smart for that trick.)

they get to win the nobel prize for literature

So, come on, fess up. Do you fantasize about the next Jeopardy winner? What's the key to your heart (or, fine, your character's, if you want to hide behind them!)??

  1. Yep, I like brains, too. But I don't want the other person to be too brainy, because I need to be able to hold my own! :)

  3. Oh yes. Brains are a must! I get irritated on a daily basis by people who don't think before they speak ("thank you for calling ______." "Are you guys there today?" "...")so of course the hubs is a smarty pants! Otherwise I would want to smother him with a pillow...

  4. I like an intelligent man but he must be confident as well. Confidence backed up with brains is the key to attraction for me.

  5. No, I can't I've fantasized about the next jeopardy winner. HAVE YOU SEEN THOSE PEOPLE?

I confess I am a visual person always have been always will be. I can't help it. I was born that way.

NO BOOS, please. Let me finish although looks are the initial attraction an intellect must be there too or the beauty wares off faster than roadrunner. The key is balance. Looks, intelligence, and sense of humor must be forever present. Am I asking for much? Yes, but many of us have those attributes so why not get them? Right?

If you don't ask you won't receive.

    Fun post, ladies.

  6. I keep my eye on being published, continuing to write, and making a positive difference in other people's lives so that they, too, can pay it forward.

  7. Thanks everyone - we agree brains = good (to some extent, except for Christopher who really, really loves them!).

Hey, christy, I think Michael's hinting our next post should be hot = sense of humor. ;)

And I should mention that my husband is an incredibly intelligent man with an excellent memory and unparalleled common sense. He was born with a learning disability that makes it very difficult to comprehend what he reads. He graduated with a college degree by having a tutor read his textbooks to him and having sending me his chicken scratches (we were over an hour apart) so I could type them in some-sort of legible form and send them back (it takes him FOREVER to type anything).

So sometimes, the physical brain malfunctions. But smarts is as smarts does. :)

  8. Oh, I couldn't live with someone who wasn't smart. I need that intellectual conversation every once in a while.

Wow, Erica- I read your comment and that's so wonderful what you did for your husband! My sister in law has that problem too- she needed her tests read to her.

  9. I like my female characters, especially, to be brainiacks!

Just read another of your posts, the one on having critique partners. It's a hot topic and of course I'm asking people to put it out there if they want a CP during my Pub Party.

Thx for putting up the button. BTW the Publication Party has kicked off on my blog. I'd love it if you could come by and read what authors have to say about getting published. Perhaps you could leave a comment about your aspirations. There are prizes each week. Please come by. The champagne's free!

    Denise :)
